1RCHA CO LCol Joe O’Donnell handed out anniversary cake to his soldiers following Friday morning sports day held at the ball diamonds and soccer pitch. Frisbee, slo-pitch and relay races were just some of the activities Gunners took part in, with the day ending with a 1RCHA spring ball held at the Officers’ Mess. Invited to the cake-cutting and serving was 1CMBG Comd Col Philippe Bourque and Brigade SM CWO Rob Clarke, who announced he will be leaving his position and leaving for a posting to Egypt following his CoA at Garrison Edmonton later this summer. Col Bourque took the occasion to thank the Gunners for their work the past year, whether at home or on deployment. He also handed out four 1CMBG Commander’s coins to WO Jonathan Turpin (Z Bty), Sgt Brett Morgan (C Bty), WO Michelle Kolbrich (HQ Bty) and Bdr Carl Gibeau (Queen’s Bty). Photos Jules Xavier/Shilo Stag
