Position: Civilian Cook – FOS 5 (Casual)
Location: Flatlands Dining Hall, CFB Shilo Base Kitchen
Start Date: ASAP (will be required to undergo a security screening and administrative hiring processes prior to start date)
Experience: Some cooking experience in a commercial establishment (restaurant, cafeteria, grill, fast food, etc.)
Shifts: Rotating schedule (0500-1430 and 1030-1900). You choose when you are available to work within those shifts any day(s) of the week.
Wage: $29.98/hr
Job Responsibilities:
Cooking & Food Prep: Prepare, cook, and present meals, including meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, salads, pasta, casseroles, and more.
Health & Safety: Maintain a healthy and safe work environment.
Food Handling: Chop, slice, dice, and use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Operations: Operate, clean, and maintain kitchen tools and equipment.
Knowledge: Understand holding temperatures, shelf life rotation, and use standardized recipes.
Skills Needed:
Basic mathematics for recipe adjustments and portioning.
Ability to lift and transport items up to 20 kg
Plan, organize, and prepare multiple meals with coordinated cooking times.
