100 years young — a veteran of the Second World War, and resident of Killarney, visited the RCA Museum.
A scout and Sherman tank driver with the Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians) (LdSH(RC)) who fought in Italy, and finished the war in Holland, Pte Laverne Tufts explored the museum’s interior and the outdoor gun park during his visit.
He also spoke with collection manager Clive Prothero-Brooks, sharing a story about the revolver he was issued after arriving in Italy, but not being issued any ammunition. He never had to use it, but it was cumbersome having to carry it along with the rest of his Army kit.
