North Warning Systems good to go for Santa tracking: Canadian Rangers

Every year, the Canadian Rangers support a very noteworthy task: inspecting the sensor arrays that contribute to NORAD’s annual Santa-tracking efforts. The Rangers, a 5,000-person strong sub-component of the Canadian Army Reserve, live largely in remote, isolated, and coastal regions of Canada, much like everyone’s favourite elf.
Defence minister, CDS visit deployed CAF members deployed abroad ahead of holiday season

Department of National Defence (DND) Minister Anita Anand and Chief of the Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Wayne Eyre have concluded a trip to Scotland, Kuwait, and Jordan, where they met with and thanked Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members deployed abroad. In Scotland, Anand and Gen Eyre visited Prestwick, where a RCAF Air Mobility Detachment is deployed and delivering Ukraine-bound military aid donated by Canada, Allies, and partners to third country locations – and supporting other CAF missions such as O REASSURANCE.

In the Canadian Army (CA), the Army Sergeant Major (ASM) is seldom far from the side of the Army Commander, and the reason is simple. Together, they form a Command Team which leads the entire Army. The ASM’s role as a communications link between the troops and the Army Commander is critical to the success of the team and by extension, the success of the Army it leads.
