Canada’s military upheld a particularly close connection with Queen Elizabeth II, Canada’s longest reigning Sovereign. The Constitution assigns the Command-in-Chief of what is formally known as Her Majesty’s Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), to the Sovereign.
Virtual Cenotaph honours citizen sailors

More than 1,700 naval reservists died in service to Canada during the Second World War. To honour their sacrifice, an online Virtual Cenotaph has been created to repatriate the lives of these sailors back to the cities, towns and villages where they grew up and began their naval service.

DP1 candidates continue their infantry training on Base and in the RTA, with their graduation scheduled for Nov. 28. A trip to the rappel tower was on the agenda all morning as these future infantry soldiers moved up to a scenario where they will rappel from a hovering helicopter while fully kitted minus their weapons.

The Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) have confirmed the identification of remains recovered during a munitions clearing process in Vendin-le-Vieil, France, as being those of Pte Harry Atherton, a Canadian soldier of the First World War.
CAF improves promotion selection process beginning with Generals, Flag Officers

This sets the stage for an ongoing evolution of the CAF’s appointment to command and promotion process to be more inclusive and to ensure those selected embody CAF ethics and values.
