The Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, the SkyHawks, is seeking motivated individuals to join their ranks for the 2024 season.
The SkyHawks offers an exciting opportunity for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members to join a prestigious team of skilled parachutists. By becoming a member of the SkyHawks, you will have the chance to showcase your abilities to audiences worldwide while representing the CAF.\
Applications are now being accepted until Nov. 30. CAF members who are interested must meet the following minimum criteria:
• Qualified DP1 or Second Lieutenant in any trade or classification;
• Qualified Military freefall parachutist or hold an A certificate issued by the Canadian Sport Parachuting Association with a minimum of 50 freefall jumps; and
• Be recommended by their unit Commanding Officer (CO).
The SkyHawks Parachute Team takes pride in assembling a diverse and inclusive group of individuals from the CAF. Our team is made up of both Regular Force members and Reserve Force members, representing all elements and trades.

How do you join the CAF Parachute Team?
To become a member of the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team – the SkyHawks, you must already be a full- or part-time member of the CAF.
The Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team – the SkyHawks is organized under the authority of CFAO 50-22 and is composed of parachute-trained personnel posted to the Canadian Army Advanced Warfare Centre at CFB Trenton, Ont. Augmentation to the team is required annually and is open to all CAF members. who meet the following minimum criteria:
For additional information consult CANFORGEN 130/21. Members who apply must be prepared to pass the para physical fitness test upon their arrival at the Canadian Army Advanced Warfare Centre. The para physical fitness test consists of the following:
• one-mile run in seven minutes, 30 seconds;
• seven chinups; and
• 31 situps.
Unsuccessful personnel will be returned to their home units.
Applications must be scanned and sent to email account skyhawks@forces.gc.ca by Nov. 30 for the 2024 season, in order to be considered for the following year’s team. Applications must include a resume of experience, their MPRR, a copy of their logbook and letter from their CO recommending their participation with the team from March to October.
Members must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
Units will be notified of selected personnel by message in the January/February timeframe. Joining Instructions will also be forwarded at this time.

Canadian T – The “Canadian T” is the formation we use to open the show during the jump season.
Three-stack drag – You are seeing that right, the third SkyHawk is completely upside-down! This formation needs to maintain significant forward speed to ensure that upside-down canopy remains inflated!
Tri-by-side – The three SkyHawks are held together by the person in the middle with a solid leg lock. This is a stellar example of the physical fitness and teamwork required to hold this formation together. Photos Skyhawks supplied
