CFB Shilo recognized the end of an era Sept. 1 as the Central Heating Plant (CHP) which has supplied steam heating to a number of buildings on the Base since 1952, was shutdown permanently.

Capt Joachim Nnanna won’t soon forget his time serving alongside 1RCHA soldiers, especially in the RTA during his first exposure to Ex FROZEN GUNNER. In fact, the 51-year-old’s four years on this Base are filled with memories he will carry with him as he heads east this month. Promoted and now Maj Nnanna, his next role in the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) is as Wing Chaplain at CFB Trenton, Ont.
