Shilo MFRC’s annual Mud Day is always popular with the youngsters who don’t mind getting mucky in the mud pit. And some adults, too, participated in mud wrestling with their kids, or spouse, as the whole family goes home covered in mud. And there are plenty of iPhone videos and photos taken to record the muddy moments, as youngsters sit in the mud pit while mothers and fathers capture the messy moments their children can look back on when they are much older and hear stories about Mud Day in Manitoba at CFB Shilo. The purpose of Mud Day is to encourage feelings of community and appreciation for the world around us. The mud slide was brought back by popular demand, and was well used by young and old.
