Base Transport heavy equipment operators removed asphalt from the skateboard park north of CANEX adjacent to Royal Avenue, with plans in the works for the site. According to fitness, sports and recreation manager Jim MacKenzie, “concrete is going to be poured and an upgrade is being made to the skateboard park.” No timeline on this work being completed, but once done, the concrete will allow the new apparatus purchased a few years ago to be secured safely, This was not possible using asphalt.
