With 47 days remaining before he retires from the CAF, A/3Div Comd BGen David Awalt was asked to fire a round alongside graduating DP1 Gunner students. While his military background is Signals Officer, he was all smiles when an opportunity to pull the lanyard on a 105 howitzer was offered by 3 CDTC Det Shilo C Coy OC Maj Melissa Marshall.

Following drill testing at the MPTF, the DBMQ recruits at 3 Cdn Div TC Coy Det Shilo received their class pennant, followed by OC Maj Melissa Marshall and her staff handing out their beret badge, Canada flag and 3 Div patch. Graduation is scheduled for July 29.
