Great War’s No. 2 Construction Battalion honoured by CAF
The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) continued to honour the legacy of No. 2 Construction Battalion, the only all-black formation in Canadian military history, during a July 8 parade in Pictou, Nova Scotia. The parade promoted the battalion’s legacy in conjunction with the Black Cultural Centre for Nova Scotia.

National monument design to Canada’s Mission in Afghanistan revealed
Veterans Affairs Canada announced the selected design for the monument to Canada’s Mission in Afghanistan. The design, developed by Team Stimson, draws on elements of healing from the Medicine Wheel and takes the form of a circular, sacred space of safety, a “home base” of reflection, memory and contemplation.
