Canadian Forces Base Shilo (CFB) welcomed a new member of the Command Team in a Change of Appointment Ceremony, greeting promoted Chief Warrant Officer (CWO) Steven Corcoran as the new Base Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) on July 16.
In his address to guests and attendees at the Change of Appointment Ceremony, the new RSM offered thanks to his family for their support while he navigated his career.
“ I’d like to thank everyone who helped me during my career [some of whom are] in this room. There are so many names that I just can’t mention them all. But I’ve been fortunate enough to work with and for some great soldiers and great leaders, and that is why I’m in this position today. And it’s solely because of what I’ve learned from those gentlemen and those ladies. I’ve been privileged to be mentored by great soldiers…”
“I would also like to thank Chief Warrant Officer Eric LeClair, who has given me one of the best handovers for a position that I’ve ever had. The handover has opened my eyes to the inner workings of CFB Shilo and the great soldiers and people who make this place run. It has given me a great understanding of what I need to do to help this base continue on the path of success. I will give this position and this base my very best.”
