CANEX manager Melissa Kelly is busy behind the scenes currently preparing for the three-day CF1 Days.
Starting July 26, Kelly says, “Lots of great sales including Member Only pricing. Unfortunately, I don’t have the flyer yet [from CANEX head office in Ottawa], so I don’t know what exactly will be featured.”
The big day for those who call CFB Shilo home, or work here, is July 26 outside of the main entrance to CANEX.
What has Kelly planned for the 2023 CF1 Days opener?
Starting at 10 a.m. there will be cake and coffee inside the store for her customers.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. is when all outside activities will happen in the parking lot, including Brandon-based Fountain Tire owner/manager Jess Cords returning to serve up hotdogs and hamburgers.
Slushies and mini donuts will be provided by The Wright Shop, while PSP is supplying one of its bouncy castles to entertain the kids. Kelly acknowledged waivers will be required for all children who use it.
She’s also looking to book face painter, but this is not yet confirmed.
CANEX vendors will also be on scene promoting their products, with plenty of free stuff being handed out.
Kelly pointed out the July 26 is “all free” for those attending.
