2PPCLI commemorate 72nd anniversary of Battle of Kap’yong with morning parade

April 23 to 25, 1951: The 700 soldiers of 2nd Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry (2PPCLI) are entrenched atop Hill 677 which controls the entrance to the Kapyong River Valley north of Seoul, modern day South Korea. Below them they watch thousands of Chinese soldiers preparing to attack. By the time the three-day battle ended, there were 12 Canadian soldiers KIA on Hill 677.
