Postponed due to a spring snow storm April 3, the Teal Up for military kids flag raising was held under sunny spring conditions at the Base’s south gate. BComd LCol Chris Wood and BRSM CWO Jeremy Abrahamse had help from a youngster who asked if she could pull the chain — with help and encouragement from the BRSM — to help the flag reach the top of the pole. The walk starting from the Officers’ Mess is scheduled for April 27 starting at 10:30 a.m., with a free barbecue slated for the same day at the MPTF starting at 5 p.m. According to Lynn Hartwick Vaillancourt, “Every month should be military childrens’ month.
