CFB Shilo is home to more than soldiers honing their artillery and infantry skills. This prairie Army training Base is also home to an array of animals and birds, and skinks, too. Stag editor Jules Xavier always has his trusty Nikons at the ready when he’s covering events, whether in the Q Patch, RTA, or this time, the Shilo Country Club while out covering a golf event. Rabbits, squirrels, partridge and prairie ground squirrels also share the links with the golf enthusiasts who play their round of 18 before retiring to the club house for a cold beverage and thick piece of pizza.
