A new Mental Health and Sport Resource Hub is ready to help Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) coaches and athletes contend with the fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coaching Association of Canada (CAC) launched the Hub as part of its National Mental Health and Sport Project in mid-February.

Following a successful return in November 2022 with its first hybrid event and first in-person run since 2019, the Canada Army Run team is already looking forward to a bigger and better 2023 edition. Presented by BMO, registration is now open for the 2023 Canada Army Run, which will once again be a hybrid event with both in-person and virtual races.

While the vast majority of skaters wear black hockey helmets at Gunner Arena on this day, Millie Laarakkers, wearing her No. 5 jersey for the Shilo Sentinels, chose a pink helmet. You can’t miss her antics on the ice — beside the obvious helmet colour — playing stalwart defensively and offensively. For her hustle and determination each two-minute shift, Millie was named her team’s player-of-the-game.
CrossFit Open tests the physical mettle of military members involved in series of workouts

A small group of Shilo tactical athletes recently completed the 2023 CrossFit Open, marking a significant achievement for CrossFit 765 – Shilo’s military affiliate. The CrossFit Open is an annual event which tests the fitness and athleticism of CrossFit athletes worldwide, and is seen as a major milestone in the CrossFit community.

Garrison Edmonton played host to the annual Ex STRONG CONTENDER, with teams from 1RCHA and 2PPCLI participating in indoor soccer, grappling, volleyball, TAC and hockey. A well-attended grappling finals saw 2PPCLI finish second overall.
